What documents do I need to apply for a Santander mortgage?

  • Your last three months’ worth of payslips – these must be dated no later than two months before your application. (If you’re self-employed, you’ll need to provide evidence of this)
  • Proof of any additional income such as child benefit, overtime or tax credits
  • A bank statement from within the past two months
  • Proof of name and address from a utility bill or bank statement

Can I repay my mortgage early?

With a Santander fixed rate mortgage, you can make overpayments by up to 10% of the outstanding mortgage balance each year without being charged an early repayment fee. With a Santander tracker mortgage, you can make unlimited overpayments. If you wish to repay your entire mortgage early, details of your early repayment charge will be outlined in your mortgage documents.
